Wednesday Night Prayer Meetings Resume
Pastor Ray will begin regular Wednesday night prayer meetings again on May 18, 2011, at 6:30 pm. Prayer meeting will meet on the second and fourth weeks. Bring your Bible and expect to be blessed.

Easter Services
We would like to invite you to the special services we will be holding to celebrate the Easter season.
We begin Holy Week with a celebration of Palm/Passion Sunday on April 17, 2011, at 11:00 AM. Church school is at 10:00 AM.
There will be a service on Good Friday, April 22, 2011 at 6:30 PM.
Easter Sunrise Service will be at 7:00 AM on April 24, 2011, followed by breakfast in the fellowship hall, church school at 10:00 AM, and worship at 11:00 AM. There will be an Easter Egg hunt for the children following the worship service.
Please come and join the celebration!

Adopt-A-Highway Pick Up

Come one! Come all!
We will be picking up trash and recycles along Pleasant Grove Road for approximately 1 1/2 hours. Meet at the church to group and depart. Dress warmly, bring gloves to wear and a “grabber” if you would like. Safety vests and trash bags will be provided. See you there!

Crisis in the Pacific
We are all urged to pray for the people of Japan during this crucial hour and support this emergency effort through giving.
A massive 8.9 magnitude earthquake rumbled through northeast Japan on Friday, March 11 triggering a 33-foot tsunami wave. The earthquake is the strongest to hit Japan in 140 years, and it is the fifth strongest in the world. The disaster caused widespread death and destruction including loss of homes and livelihoods. The crisis is intensified with the threat of nuclear radiation. Please remember in prayer and with you assistance the other countries in the world who have suffered natural disasters such as Christchurch, New Zealand as well.

Pleasant Grove will be participating in the United Methodist “One Great Hour of Sharing” on April 3, 2011. The special offering taken on April 3 will go to assist those in the world who are suffering from the effects of natural disasters. Please come prepared to give generously.

Prospective Members Class: EVERYONE is WELCOME!!!

We will meet at 9:30 for coffee and laughter on Sunday mornings, March 6 and March 20, 2011.
Then at 10:00 am we’ll start class and talk about what it means to be a member of Pleasant Grove Union Church. We hope you’ll join us.

Join us for a candlelight service that is sure to become part of your family tradition. Starts at 5 pm on Christmas Eve. Dress is casual. Enjoy the mystery and delight of Christmas anew.

Christmas Program, December 18th, 4:00 p.m.
Please plan to join us for our annual Christmas Program to be presented, Saturday, December 18th at 4:00 p.m. Cello, children and adult vocal groups, piano, and organ music; humorous “Name that Savior” skit; candlelight; and traditional nativity included in the program. Reception to follow downstairs.

Operation Christmas Child
Thank you to all who supported this year’s Operation Christmas Child. Nineteen boxes were delivered this week to a local Operation Christmas Child Drop Off Location provided by Pleasant Grove Union Church. Thank you again for your part in sharing the love of Jesus with children around the world for surely, “Little is much when God is in it”.

Community Thanksgiving Service on Nov. 21
On Sunday, November 21, 2010, at 7PM there will be a community Thanksgiving worship service held at Montmorenci United Methodist Church in Candler. You are invited to join in with the 8 other churches that will be represented for worship, thanksgiving, praise and fellowship.
